NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
The school has utilised the Federal Government Chaplaincy program to support the welfare of students at the school within the intended framework and guidelines set by the Department.
Scripture (SRE)
A feature of the public education system in NSW is the opportunity to provide time in class for education in ethics, faith and morality from a religious or non-religious perspective at the choice of parents.
At Carlingford High School SRE (special religious education) is delivered once a week for 10 weeks and offered to students in Year 7 and 8 to participate. Information about specific dates and times will be sent out to parents each year.
Three providers deliver SRE at Carlingford high school, click on the links below to view the curriculum delivered by each provider.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by emailling the school.
