BYOD information

BYOD - hardware and software information

Year 7 - 12 mandatory BYOD 

All Years 7 - 12 students are to bring an approved personal computing device to school.

The device needs to meet the specifications outlined in the school information package distributed on orientation day.

Connections

A signed copy of the BYOD Policy must be brought into the school and given to the front office. IT may not be available to connect you immediately but will contact you with the next available time possible.

Students must bring in their ID Card, the device to be connected, fully charged, and any administrator passwords when called upon for their appointment.

Requirements

Dual Band WiFi (5Ghz compatible) - If you have a device that does not have a 5Ghz compatible chip you may also be able to purchase an external USB WiFi adapter, these devices are generally labelled Dual Band and will mention 5Ghz on the packaging.

Hardware keyboard - No touchscreen devices for typing.

Education software

All NSW Department of Education and Communities School students are eligible to download and licence Adobe and Microsoft software using their education email address, using the SSO log in. This software is only available to download onto personally owned devices.

Students will need to use their @education.nsw.gov.au student email address to register.

Note: Individual students are eligible for one download per application only.
